Who we are

JMB Trucks is a trading name of HML Trucks (Pty) Ltd, 4 George Lubbe St, Hamilton, Bloemfontein, 9301. This page sets out what personal information this website collects and what we do with it, as South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) requires.

What this website collects

Very little. The site has no forms, no accounts and no online payments. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking code. Its fonts and photos load from this site itself, not from other companies.

Like every website, the server keeps short technical logs of each visit: your IP address, the date and time, the page asked for and your browser type. These logs keep the site secure and working, and are deleted after a short time. We don’t match them to names. The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., whose servers may be outside South Africa.

When you contact us

You reach us by phone, WhatsApp or email. When you do, we receive what you send us: your name, number or email address, and your message. We keep it to answer you and, if you buy or sell a truck with us, for the records of that sale that the law requires. We don’t sell your information or pass it on for marketing.

WhatsApp messages also pass through WhatsApp (Meta), and email through Microsoft, which hosts our email. Their own privacy terms apply to those services.

Links to other sites

The buttons for WhatsApp, Instagram, Google Maps and Google reviews take you to those services. Once you’re there, their privacy terms apply, not ours.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we handle it. Contact Berné Liebenberg on berne@jmbtrucks.com or 083 384 1744.

If you’re not happy with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
